Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her stage title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound, as well as the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. In July of 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. The news was released on December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening act. In 2018 she guest-starred in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was released on September 5th. Then, on the 9th of November the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Two singles more were released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song was followed by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019 that surpassed three million views via YouTube in one week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
